We monitor the impact of our Senior Leadership Development Programme by asking all members to complete a pre-course and post course evaluation form.

Our evaluation forms ask people to assess the impact of their programme through:

– confidence levels against our course learning objectives

– progress against personal, clinical and organisational goals

– participation satisfaction

Members complete the pre-course evaluation on the first morning of their courses, and we ask them to complete the post course evaluation at the end of the three-days.


I want every leader to go through the course as I’m sure it would make the NHS a better place. I also want to be able to put into practice what I’ve learnt.

Staff College ran our Senior Leadership Development Programme twice in 2018. Our evaluation report for 2018 showed:

• 93.5% rated the programme as excellent or good

• 96% said they would definitely recommend the programme to others

• 67% of members felt they had achieved their personal goals or made progress towards them during the course

• 67% of members felt they had achieved their organisational goals or made progress towards them during the course

• 54% of members felt they had achieved their clinical goals or made progress towards them during the course

I have not felt as invigorated or as challenged in a long time. I feel I have been shown important aspects of myself and given tools to improve.
