Latest case study: Dr Jane Jones
Dr Jane Jones, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Whittington Health, and Clinical Lead for Children and Adolescent’s Mental Health Services, attended the Staff College Senior Leadership Development Programme: Leading Self, Leading Others and Leading Systems modules from October-December 2017.
Six months later, we followed up with her to find out how the programme had helped her to achieve her personal, clinical and organisational goals.
In her case study, she describes how the programme changed her view of leadership; less about having to lead from the front, instead more about stepping back, empowering others and taking personal accountability. It also gave her the courage to step up and push herself to be the very best leader she can be.
The impact of the programme has led to a change in how she runs the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service. With greater transparency and consistency in the way cases are triaged, patients are more likely to be referred to the right service first time, receiving appropriate care more quickly.
